The Holy Spirit and The Will of God
Acts 16:4-10
Helping the believer determine God’s will.
Introduction - a quick review of the geography of Paul’s second missionary trip v. 6-9.
When wanting to know the will of God, one should being by abiding in Christ.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you desire, and it will be done for you.
- John 15:7
Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
- Joshua 1:7
Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
-Psalm 37:4
Desire of your heart - by abiding in Christ your heart’s desire will become more like His.
Door of opportunity - God will open and close doors as you follow Him being surrendered to His will. Notice our text verses, although God had called Paul to preach, God directed him where by the Holy Spirit.

Some times the door of opportunity opens but we are not willing to obey. Key is surrender
An Inner Peace
Isaiah 26:3, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
Isaiah 55:12, “You will go out with joy and be lead out with peace.”
Philippians 4:7, “and the peace of God, which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
It is a mistake to ignore this principle of peace.
Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”
